1 year ago today...

It's been a whole year since this:

Our apartment in Arizona looked like this:

But then we moved here: (we still don't have a yard!)

And I looked like this:

It's amazing how time flies! I can't believe a year ago Terry was graduating pharmacy school, and the next day we moved back to Utah. 3 months later I had Deacon and life has never been better! Life is so different now that we aren't students. I still expect to hear Terry say "I have to study" every time I suggest we do something. It's wonderful NOT to hear it! It's so good to be back with family and not have to take a plane or drive 12 hours just to see them for a few days. It's so nice (and a little weird) to be a "normal" family and do whatever we want because we're not studying!! I still mosey down to the basement and rummage through all my school stuff just to remember how fun school was. Terry does not. What a difference a year makes!

Teeth!

Deacon is teething! Yes, it was a few weeks ago (I'm a little behind). 3 teeth are coming in all at the same time! I didn't even notice they were coming in until my sister and Terry's stepmom said they thought they could see them. I still waited a couple of days to check ( I'm such a bad mom/hygienist). Sure enough, two teeth on the bottom and one on the top! For all my dental peeps they would be C or D (can't quite tell which one) and O and P. Anyone besides me think it's weird that the maxillary is coming in at the same time as the mandibulars? Or am I just paranoid? Deacon has been sooooo cranky since cutting teeth. It's like he's a completely different kid! He's also loves to bite everything, including my fingers while I was taking these pics. He's also 8 months old! I can't believe how fast time is flying!

Top tooth, aka "Snaggletooth" (sorry about the boogers)

Bottom teeth

Couldn't resist! He loves the stoller

Fun with Aunt Maria

Maria came to visit from frigid Minnesota. She stayed a week and we had a blast! We went to the Living Planet Aquarium (very cool) and hung out with friends and family. Thanks for coming Maria! We miss you already!!

Miss you Mom

Today is always such a hard day for me! It's bittersweet, since I am an actual mother now, but I wish my own mother was here! Those darn primary kids get me every year when they sing "Mother I love you, mother I do. Father in heaven has sent me to you." I miss you so much mom. Hopefully you're having a good time up there with the rest of my kids!

Playtime!

First off, problem solved with tub time. Thanks for all your advice! I guess it was a minor transitional freakout on Deacon's part, because now he quite like bath time. A $6 foam turtle pillow goes a long way. I've been babysitting my nephew Beckam for the last few weeks, and I think they are having a blast together! At least until Deacon can defend himself a little better...

Beckam loves Deacon's binkie
Kissing cousins...literally

Solution?

Saw this on the Today show this morning. It's called the tummy tub and is designed to simulate the womb. It was only sold in Europe but now some lady sells it in the States. All the kids they had in it were loving it (how cute was the girl on the end?). I can hardly justify spending $45 dollars on a glorified bucket, though. Maybe if things still don't improve...
