Miss you Mom

Today is always such a hard day for me! It's bittersweet, since I am an actual mother now, but I wish my own mother was here! Those darn primary kids get me every year when they sing "Mother I love you, mother I do. Father in heaven has sent me to you." I miss you so much mom. Hopefully you're having a good time up there with the rest of my kids!

Playtime!

First off, problem solved with tub time. Thanks for all your advice! I guess it was a minor transitional freakout on Deacon's part, because now he quite like bath time. A $6 foam turtle pillow goes a long way. I've been babysitting my nephew Beckam for the last few weeks, and I think they are having a blast together! At least until Deacon can defend himself a little better...

Solution?

Saw this on the Today show this morning. It's called the tummy tub and is designed to simulate the womb. It was only sold in Europe but now some lady sells it in the States. All the kids they had in it were loving it (how cute was the girl on the end?). I can hardly justify spending $45 dollars on a glorified bucket, though. Maybe if things still don't improve...

Question

I have a question for all you mommies! Deacon has loved bath time since he was a few weeks old. I've bathed him in an upright chair until he could sit up on his own. He finally started sitting up so we gave him a "big boy" bath. The first one he LOVED! I took pictures to prove it. But now he hates it!! He screams bloody murder every time I even walk into the bathroom! Is this a stage or is he really terrified of bath time? Anybody else's kids do this? I feel like such a horrible mom!

First big boy bath! Too bad he hates it now...

Also, Deacon is now 7 months old! He can sit up on his bear chair (with a little help from dad).

New 'do

So I finally succumbed and did the dreaded "mommy bob". I swore I would never be one of those girls that has a kid and chops their hair off. Well, now that I actually HAVE a kid, I get it. No time to do your hair (or barely get a shower!) means the locks come off. My wonderful sis-in-law Tammy had the honor of cutting it and I think she did a great job! Thanks a bunch, I love it!!

Couldn't resist this video. This is what Terry did after he came home from work last night. Usually Deacon is in bed already, but we both got home around 9:45 pm. And yes, he did go right to bed afterward!

Happy Easter!

Deacon's first Easter was pretty good, even though the Easter bunny forgot to come to our house! (I'm still trying to get the hang of this parenting thing down). We had 2 egg hunts at the grandparents' houses, but my batteries died in the camera so enjoy the pictures from Grandma Jill's house.

New Sunday outfit

Rockin' some shorts when it was quite cold outside (I'm such a mean mom!)

He got quite a few eggs even though he can't walk!
Trying to get all the cousins to pose for a picture? Impossible.

I've been shot!

Okay, some dumbtrons shot our house with paint balls! Honestly, who does that? I'm guessing they can't be to mean, judging by their choice in paint color. Our house and 3 others in the neighborhood were blasted with paint balls. I called Officer Friendly, but I'm guessing these thugs will never be caught. I thought living in Phoenix was dangerous, but this is ridiculous!

My house

The neighbors house. They also got their front porch sprayed.

On a better note, Deacon is loving veggies. Sometimes we even get them in his mouth!
